A Beautiful Detour

Not long ago my best friend and I went on a road trip from Lancaster to State College in Pennsylvania. We found a small highway that was a scenic detour. At one point we saw a place where we could turn off into this park. The water was perfectly still and the sun was setting; it was a beautiful, quiet fall evening, and it was a perfect spot to skip stones and perhaps take a hike if we had time.

This picture fills me with fond memories. I think of rolling the windows down, cranking the music up, laughing, and even finding random sightseeing places we’d found on the internet (like a giant tree carved to look like a coke bottle). I sure am thankful we got to do that road trip during my last semester of college; those were great memories that I’ll never forget.
