A Quiet Moment

Snapped this today after work. Went to a park not far from my house and got this pretty egret with my zoom lens. It was so good to take some time off and take a walk through some trails and take pictures. My body hasn’t adjusted to Texas heat and humidity yet, so I walked around close to sunset. It wasn’t bad, except I got eaten alive by mosquitoes. Not making the mistake of going out without bug spray again! Seriously, sometimes I think TX mosquitoes could pick you up and carry you away.

I had to hunch over in order to not get a graffiti’d bridge in this picture. Tiny crabs scurried away underfoot- there were probably thousands of them along the shoreline. It was a wonderful quiet moment in nature. Amazing how much nature and beauty you can see when you crop man’s creation out of it… very thankful I was able to capture the setting of this great egret without scaring it away. (Zoom lenses are the best!)
