Foggy Sunrise

IMG_9850.wmThis was sunrise a couple weeks ago at Clear Lake Park, in a suburb of Houston. No filters, just my kit lens and tripod. The morning was foggy, and the water was still as glass. My eye could not discern where the water ended and the sky began. The sun started to rise, and some gulls landed on the outcropping of rocks, occasionally flying around for a different perch or swooping past me noiselessly. It was a beautiful, serene morning, muted by the gray fog, illuminated solely by the orange glow of the sun. Part of me wishes such a moment could last forever…
