Experimenting with my macro filters. Spotted this leaf and thought it might make an interesting shot with the patterns and limited amount of range of focus from the filter. This was not a very large leaf, but I really like how big it seems when you zoom in.
This picture makes me think of a cool morning in a forest. The birds are chirping, and God has brought forth the dew to water the thirsty ground. I imagine a scene of perfect beauty, and satisfaction, because the plant’s important needs are met: sunlight and water. I also like the imagery of being so full that extra water must reside on the leaf for a time. How do you feel today? Dried up and shriveled, or lush and green, and replenished?
Reminds me of the contrast in Psalm 1:
1 Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
